My 1st ever holiday alone! WOW what a location, what a wild bunch, what an adrenaline rush. Someone said I was always smiling... what's not to smile about? Lots of wonderful images, feeling & sensations all stored up in the memory bank for a pick-me-up whilst living in the real world. Watch this space - I came a novice but this time next year.... Thanks for a great experience, excellent value and I recommend it to anyone wanting a fun time. |

My third trip to the Cocos and by far the most enjoyable. The welcome from the locals was as warm as ever and it was good to see all the familiar faces. The Kiting was magnificent with only one "no-wind" day and heaps of fun with old and new friends. Jen, Brett and Mike made the stay very comfortable and gave a lot of great advice and fun moments. My kiting improved significantly and managed to sail in "big wind" days and stay upwind! Already looking forward to next year. |

Just wanted to say thanks so much for your great hospitality. I had a really awesome time. You have gone to a lot of trouble to make things easy for the rest of us - it doesn't go unnoticed. Thanks also for just being friendly and making it easy to be the 'random' guy. (my haiku)

After a lack of kiting at home last year, I was stoked with the conditions. learnt to ride unhooked for the 1st time, did my 1st kite loops.. BOOYAKASHA! Landed some unhooked railies, started jump transitions & also rode Blind. Haven't progressed this much since I started 2 1/2 years ago! Its going to be a long 12 months till next year...but i'll be back.. |

Cocos Kiter's best 2007 kiting moments, places and memories..
Nic - The day Rob and I finally had the "click" moment, and stayed upwind- had to walk DOWNWIND! We grinned at each other like idiots! Also, on one of the multiple downwinders when I realised I was just kiting instinctually and enjoying the sun, and the sea life, and the scenery, instead of watching the kite, or board, or thinking about it all too much.
Robert - First successful downwinder! First time upwind and then being 100% consistent powering upwind. Achieved first sliding & carving transitions.
Hansie - The down winders are great, kiting from Kite Beach in the easterlies is great fun, the get together in the evening after a hard day's kiting. Sharing the trip with a great bunch of people adds to the experience.
Taz - Kiting 101 with Mike Lowery. My first kiteloop- nailed it on the second attempt and had one witness (jen). Riding blind for the first time and actually doing it reasonably well. Swimming with sharks - White tip reefies in the Rip and a heap of little Black tip reefies at Prison Island. DI, again. The hungie
Jason - The feeling of accomplishment I got arriving in the shallows of the island on the opposite side of the lagoon with Dale.
Dale - When me and jason kite surfed across to the other island and best memory was the first down winder.
Robin - Probably those evenings as the sun went down.as we skipped over the flat warm waters, knowing that a candle-lit dinner outside with bottle of good red awaiting our landing? Or was it the pre-breakfast dawn kite on our last day, with fresh fruit and juice on the beach to follow?
