In 2005 Zephyr Tours unlocked the pristine training waters of the Cocos Keeling Islands, and since then the Islands have become Zephyr’s flagship destination producing some of the world’s most intrepid kitesurfing adventurers.
Not only is Cocos the perfect training ground for progression of all levels and disciplines of kitesurfing, but it’s also Australia’s most stunning tropical destination.
As always, you’ll be greeted and cared for by Zephyrs’ highly skilled and professional team with years of experience in the area. There’s no corner of this picture perfect atoll we’re unable to show you.
It’s like stepping back in time… small planes, moustaches and stubbies, slow internet and a friendly wave from everyone you pass on the street.
Eating off the land, swimming with the mantas, kiting over the blue holes, paddleboarding the waves and playing golf with the locals are a normal part of life.
It’s here that we set the bar for quality adventure tours that are slightly extreme and, a little bit luxurious.

World class kiting at its best
The Cocos Keeling Islands sit SMACK BANG in the middle of the winter trade winds and have an average of 20 knots all winter, which is why we take you there in July, August and September each year.
28 degrees all day every day with a refreshing water temp, the Cocos offers the perfect winter escape with guaranteed winds of perfection.
In the warm beautiful tropical waters, you’ll be forever dodging turtles and reef sharks and if you’re lucky, maybe even giant manta rays.

Zephyr HQ – Cocos Islands
Nestled under shady palm trees and protected by the persistent trade winds, Zephyr Headquarters is set up on ‘kite beach’ with everything you’ll ever need, from sun lounges, shade, kite and Stand Up Paddleboard storage, classroom facilities, cooking, and dining. Yes, we even have a kitchen sink!
The Zephyr 11 seater Toyota Troop carrier and gear trailer is your ticket to explore every inch of the Island with the crew. Each day we arrange daily pickups from your accommodation and as a group, head to the beach, club or event. Our second car, boat or the ferry will always be available for downwinders and extra Island adventures.
Our support boat at Kite beach is re-assurance for all kiters on the epic lagoon crossings, downwinders and during lessons for kitesurfing and standup paddle and is the only of its kind for kite rescue purposes in the Cocos lagoon.

All the best gear (hire)
Working with our partners at Ocean Addicts QLD, we have all the latest Duotone and Naish kitesurfing gear for lessons, demo and hire.
All Zephyr Tours focus on your kitesurfing progression, and we want you to have the best chance of putting your new skills to the test; and the best way to do this is on the most suitable equipment for your size, ability and style of riding.
If you have gear you are happy with and it’s in good condition, take it with you. But if you are a beginner or are thinking of upgrading, why not take advantage of our premium HIRE/BUY packages only available to Zephyr guests?

More than just kitesurfing
At Zephyr, we believe the best holidays are ones where you can be fully immersed in the local culture and experience all the location has to offer. Every day we have activities planned around your kitesurfing. You will never be bored out here in paradise.
Our favorite things to do on the Cocos are
- Stopping by the clam farm to meet Clunies-Ross, walking through the old coconut plantation, playing with the hermit crabs at Trannies and visiting the surf shack
- Hunting and gathering to catch fish, husk coconuts and visiting the farm to prepare meals and learn from the locals
- The not to be missed Scroungers golf. Hitting off across an international runway with the locals in small rowdy groups, all you need are some hire clubs, a few beers and good sense of humor
- Visiting the Cocos-Malay Muslim community on Home island with a trip to the local museum and the original Clunies-Ross Mansion
- Take the Stand Up Paddleboards out to The Spot for some wave riding and turtle dodging

Cocos Cuisine
To ensure we can offer tasty, varied and delicious meals on our Cocos tours, our resident cook has designed the meal plan around the availability of fresh seafood, local produce, and imported foods while also taking advantage of all the local food providers and supporting the community.
All tours include delicious daily breakfast, lunch, freshly baked treats, fruit, tea, coffee & refreshments. Most meals are catered for, however, for the few nights we’ve not included dinner, we’ve booked you in for a local’s meal night or you may choose to stay at home, chill out and cook for yourself.

Where we Stay
With limited options, it’s essential that you book your tour early as the best accommodation always sells out fast.
We choose to stay in The Bungalows, Cottages, and Castaway which all are roomy, self-contained and modern with sea views or ocean breezes, air conditioning and ensuites.
To keep it simple, we’ve included accommodation based on twin share into the packages, and we book the best available when you confirm your booking.
For groups or families, it’s easier if we put you in touch with the owners to arrange accommodation directly. We’ll then remove the accommodation price from the package when you use the code: OWNACCOMMX7 for 7 night tours, or OWNACCOMMX10 for 10 night tours.
Add the Single Supplement (which is equal to half the room cost per night) if you are a solo traveller and want a deluxe room all to yourself, or if you snore.
Solo travellers can save by finding someone to share with (or we try for you) on the SOLO TRAVELLERS HOOKUP Facebook page.

Getting there
Virgin Australia flies to the Cocos twice a week from Perth, and prices range from $1000-$1500 return (we know you could go to Bali and back three times for the same price, but would you have it all to yourself)? As the planes are small, seats sell fast, so it’s essential to book your tour early and save.
Book your flights direct AFTER you have our confirmation and accommodation. Contact Virgin Australia for flights or Island Explorer Holidays in Perth who specialise in the Indian Ocean Islands
As the Cocos is a tax-free territory, you’ll be flying out of the international terminal in Perth, and it’s recommended you carry your passport (as well as your driver’s license) for clearing customs.
If you are coming from the East Coast of Australia, connecting return flights with no-stop-overs are available on the 10 day tours.
