Welcome to South Africa, Zephyr Tours’ epic backdrop for intrepid exploration and your kitesurfing progression!
South Africa has got it all; epic coastline, colourful culture, abundant wildlife, fantastic weather, powerful wind, open beaches spanning for miles, rolling green valleys littered with wineries and iconic mountains with breathtaking views.
Packed with adventure & culture, you’ll have the pleasure of experiencing everything South Africa has to offer while escaping the crowds and kiting waves, flat water lagoons & the strong winds.
Lead by our favourite South African kite instructor Johnny Fassler, he will guide us to the best kitesurfing areas around Cape Town and beyond. Local knowledge is the key when travelling in South Africa, not only to stay safe but to find the best kite spots and fun activities to do away from the crowds.
Designed to experience some of the Red Bull King of the Air tour, we have carefully chosen dates to coincide with this epic event.

THE CAPE, SOUTH AFRICA
Cape Town is an amazing city which has earned its reputation as one of the most beautiful destinations in the world. With natural wonders such as Table Mountain offering a stunning backdrop, the views are hard to beat. Contrasting with this, it also has a fierce reputation as being the Cape of Storms.
The Cape Peninsula has a Mediterranean climate with dry days and warm weather during the Summer. South Africa is well known for its wine, with much of it being produced in the cape. With a rich cultural history, there are lots of museums to explore, day trips to Cape Point or Robben Island as well as attempting to climb either Table Mountain or Lions Head.
Our base in Cape Town is on a peninsula so there is always an ideal place to kite no matter which way the wind blows. On this tour, we will explore both sides and escape the crowds with day trips and overnight adventures to other famous kite spots like Langebaan, Witsand, Struisbaai and Strand to name a few.

UPCOMING TOURS
KOTA & Cape Kitesurf Adventure – South Africa
JAN 31 – FEB 10 2020
Touring during the most extreme kite event on the planet, be inspired to push the limits of your own kiting while rubbing shoulders with the industry’s elite. Designed to experience some of the Red Bull King of the Air tour, we have carefully chosen dates to coincide with this epic event.

Where we stay
Based in Bloubergstrand, right on the kite strip and a short distance from KOTA but far enough from the crowds, our lux 5 bedroom house has awesome views of Table Bay, Table Mountain, and Robben Island. Watch the wind come in and the KOTA event right from your bedroom or the open plan living areas. All rooms are twin share with as many bathrooms, a double lock up garage and multiple living areas.
When we venture further afield to Straisbaai, Witsands or Lagabaan, you’ll have equally amazing dwellings to enjoy while exploring the local kite spots without clocking up too many km’s in one day.

The Cusine
As with all Zephyr Tours, we don’t skimp on food. Becky, Ben and Johnny will have your tastebuds jumping and your body fueled with healthy breakfasts, big lunches and in-house dinners.
Our South African Braai (bbq) will be used a lot (and have you seen the size of the locals)? Meat, meat and more meat, fish, fresh local veggies and excellent local coffee will be served to ensure your fueled for huge days of kiting and boosting.
Each day will be planned around the wind, the KOTA events, restaurants and where we are kiting each day. Like always, you can sit back, relax and let us feed you so all you have to think about it kiting.

Getting there
Make your way to Cape Town airport or meet at KOTA on the first day of the tour to start your next kite adventure. Flights into Cape Town run daily from various airlines and start from $1529 return from Perth.
We will arrange airport transfers on the tour start and finish dates or to and from your private accommodation in Cape Town if you wish to stay for the whole event: 24 January – 16 February 2020
TOUR BONUS
On this tour, we have loads of adventures planned, some far away from the crowds that must be kited for more than just a day.
So instead of clocking up many km’s in one day, we will book additional accommodation in the best town with the best winds so you can enjoy a late arvo, or early morning session before hitting the road back to base and KOTA.
