Ben Strowger – Owner, Stoke Coach & Duotone team rider.
Ben has been passionate about board sports since he left England. As a natural motivator and frother, he’s been leading people on adventures to snowboard, party and kitesurf for years.
His friendly and positive outlook on life is contagious and his passion for kitesurfing and adventure will blow you out of the water – literally.
Ben’s favourite trick on a kite is jumping high with his latest WOO measure (11.8m – #1 in Aus) and his best trick on the water is teaching people to kite with more style and better technique.
“keep it simple, make it stylish”
Ben works for our partner retail shop Ocean Addicts in QLD. Check out his Stoke Coach sessions for the ultimate inspiration and see why he gets people to follow him anywhere around the world for the stoke.
Since the inception of kiting and its popularity in Australia, Jen has been involved in the Australian kite scene; learning to kite on two-line kites in Venezuela, way back in the year 2000!
Jen started Zephyr Watersports in 2003 where she taught kitesurfing, windsurfing and kayaking for more than 6 years and was head coach on the Cocos Islands until 2017 with Zephyr Tours
Exploring many parts of the world, Jen is not afraid of adventure and trying new things. Leading reconnaissance tours to Vietnam, Fiji Cloudbreak, New Caledonia, Torres Strait and Cocos Islands, she is always on the look out for new and exciting tours to offer.
In 2013 Jen embarked on the biggest journey of her career – The Pink Torres Strait Kite crossing. After this epic journey of physical and mental resilience, she hung up her kite strings and now has the pleasure of watching her partners and dedicated team run the show.
Sam Chapman – IKO Level 2 Instructor & Physio
“El Chappo’ is our top female coach with the stamina, enthusasim and drive to match Ben! She is always happy, bubbly and keen to help everyone she meets progress their kitesurfing.
Earning many trophies across the Nation in competitive freestyle kitesurfing, she rocks on the Vegas, hooked in or out, kiting looping and sliding where ever she can.
Pier de ‘Loop’
Hailing from Montreal, our French Canadian instructor certainly earned his new nickname ‘Loopy’ very quickly. He is compact and energetic, allowing him to hold down big kites and bust loops when ever he gets on the water.
Loopy has a way with all levels of riders, men and women as he is patient and can explain technique clearly and concisely.
Jake Guastavino- IKO 2 instructor & fanatical flyfisherman
Jakes passion for the ocean shines though most when he is teaching. He has so much patience and understanding when coaching beginners and understands the frustrations involved. Walking through technique step by step, Jake breaks it all down into achievable bits to ensure progression is maximised.
When he is not kiting, we find him wading the shallows flyfishing for bonefish and GT. He is more than happy to take you too, just ask!
Becky Bury – Host extraordinaire
Becky joins the team from Perth but hails from Northern England. She’s the hostess with the mostess and not a stranger to adding HP sauce and cheese butties to the menu. Becky ensures everyone is well fed using all the fabulous local produce and food providers where, and when possible.
Only kiting for 2 years, Becky rides hard, trys new tricks everyday and always with a HUGE smile on her face!
Looking after us like family since 2013, Kimiko and Songhie are the owners of the first Eco Tourism business on Yorke Island.
Their hospitality and welcoming spirit is the driving force behind the authentic experience you receive when visiting Yorke Island to kitesurf with Zephyr Tours
Like all indigenous people, Kimiko and Songhie have close ties to the land and ocean and have created a tourist friendly beachside center for us to enjoy.
